The Disney Inspire is a new Chase Visa Credit Card with a $149 Annual Fee.

What does this card give you to make it worth signing up for?

  • Currently (May 2026) there is a $300 Disney Gift Card bonus when you sign up and are approved for the card (most report getting an email with the gift card almost immediately upon approval) AND a $200 Statement Credit when you spend $1000 in your first 3 months. A total of a $500 bonus just for signing up and spending $1000.

  • Alternatively (May 2026), you can instead receive a $500 statement credit after you spend $1000 in your first 3 months.

  • Either way, the total bonus has been reduced from $600 to only $500 for signing up.

  • A $10 Statement Credit each month when you spend $10 on Disney+, Hulu and/or ESPN or $120 total.

  • A $100 Statement Credit per year when you spend $200 on Disney Theme Park tickets

    • This includes Lightning Lane purchases, Annual pass purchases, After-hour tickets (including MNSSHP & MVMCP) but does not include Disney Vacation Packages which include tickets. The fine print notes that the tickets must be purchased directly with Disney.

  • A $200 Disney Reward Dollar Credit when you spend $2000 on Disney Resort Stays and / or Disney Cruise Line bookings

    • This includes any cash stays booked directly with Disney but also includes folio expenses charged to your room during your stay (like purchases made with your magicband). Disney Vacation Packages DO count towards this.

    • DCL only qualifies for the stateroom rates, folio expenses and port adventures do not count towards the $2000.

    • The Disney Dining Plan DOES count towards the $2000 spend! (Thanks @Zubon for the DP!)

  • Earns 10% back on any purchases made at Disneyplus.com Hulu.com or plus.espn.com

    • This currently includes the total purchase price you make BEFORE the $10 statement credit, meaning if your monthly Disney+ plan is $12.99 you would get $1.30 back each month in reward credit and only pay $2.99 per month for Disney+ after the $10 credit.

  • Earns 3% back at gas stations and most US Disney locations

  • Earns 2% back at grocery stores & restaurants

  • Earns 1% back on everything else

  • 0% Financing for 6 months on select Disney vacation packages, Adventures by Disney packages, including DVC direct purchases

  • Exclusive Disney Inspire Visa card designs

How can I check if a purchase tracked towards one of the goals?

  • For your initial $300 statement credit when you spend $1000, it should be pretty simple since all purchases count towards this, but if you have your card setup online with Chase, you can go to the details of your card and you should see on that page a "New card bonus" section that will either show progress towards the goal or if you met the goal (see example image above).

  • For all of the other goals, it is a little harder to track them - but you can see which purchases counted towards your goal.

    • From the Chase website, if you navigate to "Benefits and Travel" and then "Rewards" then choose your Disney Inspire card, you will be presented with a list of "Recent Rewards Dollars activity" and you can click "See additional activity" - click there and find your transaction or click "See all transactions" to see more.

    • Once you find your transaction, click on it and it will tell you if the purchase counted towards one of the goals. It will say it earned 0.00 Reward Dollars across from the stated goal because the purchase itself doesn't earn Reward Dollars for that goal it just tracks towards the goal and then you'll receive a statement credit or Disney Reward Dollars separately after you've reached the goal.

    • See below for a screenshot of a WDW Lightning Lane purchase that counts towards the Disney Ticket Credit, I highlighted in yellow the part that shows this purchase tracked for the Disney Ticket Credit. I also added a screenshot showing a Folio purchase that counted towards the Disney Resort and DCL Credit (called the Disney Resort Anniversary Bonus).

  • Is the Disney Inspire card worthwhile? Usually the best way to evaluate if a card is worthwhile is if you can earn more than the $150 Annual Fee.

    • If you're already paying for Disney+ it is easy to get there. Having a subscription that costs $10 or more per month saves you $120/year (and earns you at least $12/year in Disney Reward Dollars) and purchasing $200 worth of Disney tickets or Lightning Lanes earns you a $100 statement credit. That is a total of $232 earned for a $150 annual fee.

    • If you're able to get the $200 Disney Reward Dollars for spending $2000 on Resorts or DCL then you've really made the card worthwhile. Linking your Disney Inspire Visa to your room reservation and charging everything you can to your room earns you 10% + 3% back if you can hit $2000. Putting all of your meals and merchandise purchases on the card should get you there pretty quickly.

  • For Folio charges that count towards the $2000 Disney Resort spend, I found that you can charge your room on your check-in and check-out days. The charges may show up separately on your card, but I had no trouble charging to my room even after I had checked out.

Questions on applying for the card

  • What is the Chase 5/24 Rule? (Source)

    • The Chase 5/24 rule is an unofficial guideline stating that most applications for certain rewards cards will be denied if you have opened five or more personal credit cards from any bank in the past 24 months.

    • Business cards from most issuers generally do not count toward your 5/24 status, though there are exceptions, and authorized user accounts may impact your standing.

    • Chase supposedly has done away with the 5/24 rule recently and is instead using different methods to approve or deny applicants, however opening more than 5 lines of credit in a 24 month period may still reduce your chances of approval.

  • If I already have the Disney Premier or Disney Visa, can I upgrade it to the Disney Inspire Visa?

    • Yes but you will not receive the sign-up bonus. You will receive the $10 Disney+ credit, $100 ticket credit and $200 Resort/DCL credit if you meet the spending requirements.

  • Can I apply for the Disney Inspire card if I already have the Disney Premier or Disney Visa?

    • Yes you can and you will receive the sign-up bonus if you apply for the card instead of upgrade!

  • Which credit bureau will Chase pull when I apply?

    • This depends on which state you live in. If you're asking because you want to unfreeze your credit report before applying, I recommend temporarily unfreezing all 3 just to be safe.

  • I wasn't instantly approved for the card. Why not and what can I do about it?

    • Is your credit frozen? If you have frozen access to your credit reports (this is actually a good practice) then you need to temporarily unfreeze access to your reports, ideally you should do this BEFORE applying so you can be instantly approved but if you did not - you can unfreeze the reports and then call Chase.

    • There are a number of other reasons you were not immediately approved for the card (see above for Chase 5/24 rule as one reason). I recommend reading this reddit thread for more information and/or review the Chase Approval Guide Decision Tree. Sometimes it just requres a manual review by a person and there is a phone number listed in the approval guide you can call to expedite your approval.

There was a post over on the DVC Fan Facebook group where someone said that anything that charges as "WDW" counted towards the $200 when you spend $2000 on Resorts or DCL and I can confirm using the method above that this is not the case.

Lightning Lanes and purchases made using your Inspire card directly at the parks do not count towards the $2000 spend, using the method above (and see the screenshot) you can see that my Lightning Lane purchase did not count towards the Resort / DCL bonus it only counted towards the Ticket bonus.

However, Folio expenses do count. So if you are staying onsite and have the Disney Inspire card and want to use it, it would be better to charge everything to your room rather than use the card directly. If your total purchases for the year end up being $2000 or more, you will get a $200 Disney Rewards credit.

I tested this out during our last stay. I purchased some lightning lanes with it and confirmed I did get the β€œticket” bonus. I typically charge to the room and pay balance every few days (using gift cards). I did use the Inspire card to make one of those transactions. It charged as WDW Folio (I believe) on my statement and that amount is noted as the current spend status for my reward.

Have found great value with this card so far! Been able to take advantage of the $300 statement credit and $100 ticket credit to save $400 on my dad's annual pass during our last trip. Also using it for our Hulu subscription to save $10 per month, every bit of savings counts!

Adding the Disney Dining Plan to a DVC stay did count for the $2000 of resort spending.

I am not normally an advocate of the Dining Plan, but between Kids Eat Free and getting the resort spending done in one shot, it was a good value for this year's trip.

Oh it great to hear how people are using the card for its benefits, thank you! I see the $200 after $2000 of resort spend acting as a β€œlight” dining plan, especially considering that this 10% off would include restaurant tipping, which is currently excluded in both DDP and the visa restaurant discounts.

We are about to attempt purchasing AP’s with our Inspire card. So, I got the card as well as my wife so all of this is X2. My quick math using the x2 $300 Disney gift cards you get just for being approved minus the x2 $300 Disney reward dollars (I think I can use this for any Disney purchase) and the x2 $100 park ticket credit. This is bringing a VERY EXPENSIVE AP for family of 3 to a reasonable cost.

I have the regular Disney Visa with no annual fee. Since I already have a Chase Disney Visa, am I still eligible for all of the incentives? (ex. the $300 sign on bonus?)

How long for the LL credit to show up on the account. It’s been over a week and nothing. The other credits I received pretty quickly.

I've heard from others most of the credits post when the statement closes.

We have yet to use the Ticket Credit or the Hotel Room/Cruise Credit.

Yes, you are... provided you apply for a new card you can get the signup bonus. Do not upgrade your card.

As long as you haven’t had a sign up bonus within the last 24 months. We have the Premier card and are looking at upgrading to the Inspire card.

You should be able to apply for the new Inspire card and get all of the benefits including the sign up bonus.

However, if you call Chase to upgrade from your Chase Disney Visa to the Inspire card, you will not get the sign up bonus but you will get all of the other benefits.

It took me until the next month. I spent over $200 on Lightning Lanes at the end of March for Spring Break and it showed up around April 11th IIRC.

FYI, the Sign Up Bonus for $300 Gift Card and $300 Statement Credit when you spend $1000 will be expiring soon. Starting on May 5th the sign up bonus will change to be a $500 Statement Credit when you spend $1000 but no instant $300 Disney Gift Card when you are approved for the card. Might be better if you can't use the Disney Gift Card I guess, but then I'd question why you're signing up for this card :)

You should receive 3% on the gift card purchase - but you could also pay your annual dues using your credit card and you would also receive the 3% back.

But there are ways to save more than 3% on Disney Gift Cards. The Target Circle card for example allows you to purchase Disney Gift Cards at 5% off all the time.

Would the recommendation still be to use the card for the Disney Visa discount on dining and merchandise as opposed to charging it back to the room?

You still might be able to get the Disney Visa discount by showing your card and then still charging it to your room. It never hurts to ask.

If you qualify for the AP or DVC discount - its better to go that route and then charge to your room.

If you can't get any discount charging to your room, the $200 credit is 10% off which is the same as the Disney Visa discount, so it would only make sense if you're trying to hit the $2000 spend, like you're very close to hitting it and it is almost your card anniversary.

Has anyone bought tickets through DVC with the MMB and if that applied to the ticket statement credit? So far, without the statement credit, the DVC tickets for our trip are the cheapest so the statement credit will be an added bonus!

Just a reminder that for those looking to get a Disney Plus credit, you have to activate it beforehand. You don't automatically get it. Also, check your offers page, you might have a Disney Plus offer, too.

would i qualify for the 3% rewards while staying at the Swan? It’s on Disney property….

Swan and Dolphin (and Swan Reserve) are not Disney properties they're owned by Marriott, so if you're paying for the room directly with the hotel, through Marriott or through a 3rd party travel agent, you would not get 3% rewards for that and you wouldn't earn towards the $200 reward for $2000 spend for Disney resort stays and cruises by staying at Swan/Dolphin/Reserve.

You would still get 3% rewards for any purchases made with your card at Disney owned & operated locations, so if you bought something from the Disney gift shop in the Swan or Dolphin or if you bought tickets to the theme parks from the Disney planning center - those are all owned & operated by Disney even though they're setup inside the Swan/Dolphin hotels so you still earn 3%.

Think about it this way - even though Disney may own the land, the company you're purchasing from in the case of Swan/Dolphin/Reserve is Marriott. The transaction on your credit card shows as a Marriott purchase, so you don't earn 3%. Conversely, if you used a Marriott card to make the purchase you would earn extra points as a Marriott purchase.

Now if you bought a Vacation Package through Disney where your hotel is Swan or Dolphin you should earn 3% and it likely would count towards the $200 reward for spending $2000 on resorts/cruises because the transaction would be through Disney.
