Yes, all the dining (minus TOTWL) is in the Contemporary, as are the shops and arcade. I don't often travel during peak times for opening and closing, but here are a few other tips and tricks that may be helpful if you haven't stayed at BLT before.

I don't own points at the Poly, but it's one of the non-home resorts I've stayed at the most (and frankly where I would add on if I had to do so now). Yes, the kids promo is great! I never had any desire to even try the dining plan before, but like you, I bought it just for the first half of a split stay, and it worked beautifully for all-you-care-to-eat dining with my 3-year-old who doesn't have the biggest appetite. I enjoy both the longhouses and the Tower, but if you like a quieter atmosphere, you'll enjoy the Tower. That's good advice for the ADRs. If ADRs don't work out, I've found that walk-ups for lunch or an early dinner are pretty doable too via MDE. You just have to be close enough to the restaurant to join the waitlist, so it's a better option for an EPCOT day if you're close enough to International Gateway.
