Love doing split stays but usually not more than 2. My favorite split stay is similar to Nancy, we want to be close to different parks. A Monorail Resort + a Crescent Lake resort puts you within walking distance of 3 out of 4 theme parks. BLT + BCV is my norm as I own at both! :)
I love both but if I had to choose just one it would be the holidays at Disney World. Not just MVMCP, but all of the decorations around all of the parks & resorts at WDW and the Festival of the Holidays makes it such a great time with lots to do! Yes, when you purchase you'll receive an email within 48 hours (check spam because sometimes it goes in there) and you'll be given either a bar code to scan or a code you can type in (or both) to load the tickets into MDE. An easy one imho would be priority registration at Moonlight Magic, it could be for just 1 event per year, but that would definitely make MMB worthwhile.

Yeah, you can only get the Unlimited Disney Premier Access (DPA) pass or what Tokyo Disney calls their Lightning Lanes when you book a Vacation Package which includes park tickets and an onsite Disney hotel. Without the Vacation Package, you'll need to try to buy DPA's when you get into the park for the most in demand
