New availabity inside 4 months
If you aren’t too picky (and ok with OKW/SSR/AKV) and/or dont mind split stays, you can generally find availability fairly last minute most of the time.

If money was no object, this would be the most optimal…. If you can get over the fact most of the Epcot resorts are 2042 properties. :(
The 1 year is for fianancing without a credit check, and it's 1 year of dues without being late to qualify. We bought direct during an Old Key West sale a couple of years ago. We first bought 150 points and then quickly realized it was a REALLY good sale (160pp direct with magical beginnings) and bought another 150 poi
Is the 20 per year documented somewhere? Is there also a percentage of owned points being rented out, ie if you continually rent out over 50% of your points a thing?
https://dvcfan.com/news/fort-wilderness-cabin-deeds-confirm-ownership-in-dvc-trust-product/ has a very good explanation of the trust product. LSL will likely have a trust product but it probably wont be the same as CFW. (just my opinion, there has been nothing said to this regard)
If you follow @airjay75 's advice (which I wholeheartedly agree with) and end up with a resale SSR contract, then your pricing changes to member pricing which can actually be quite the difference.
You should visit both Riviera and Poly this trip and see if either calls to you. As @airjay75 said, Riviera will almost certainly be sold out by the time LSL starts selling but Poly will still be there. Do keep in mind Riviera expires in 2070 so there's already 5 years "missing" on the contract, same for Poly in 2066.
None of the member benefits mean much to me, but I will say that we've made use of a bunch of them, including Moonlight Magic, which are super fun if you can get in. That being said, by far the reason we bought direct is because I would be very sad if I couldn't use my points at Lakeshore Lodge with all of the new deta
Visted Disneyland the first time this year and loved it, but there's just so much more to do at WDW (and we moved here to go more often) so that's my pick :)
This looks next level/game changer. (If the concept materialzes of course) We can always use more points, I guess :) Now we just need to see point charts.. I'm scared already.
Seems the old adage "The best time to buy was yesterday, the second-best time to buy is today" still reigns supreme :)
Completely understand, as I get older it gets hard to ride the "thrill" rides, although Soarin isn't that "thrilling", it can be on a "bad" day. But I, too will ride Soarin Over America!
I'm sure you'll update your post, but does this change anything? :)
The fireworks certainly will be hectic, but being in the middle of the 360 degree fireworks at MK is an experience! Totally understand though, we usually avoid them for the same reasons.
Noticed something, it appears that these rooms that face the existing Fort Wilderness Trail's End Restaurant and Hoop-Dee-Doo (the building you can see in the bottom right of this image) do not have balconies. I'm sure these won't be the DVC side and will be the hotel side as I would be any DVC room would have a balcon
So I'm certainly not trying to influence any rash decisions, but VDH is my favorite property and, if you can snag a room on the upper floors (we had one of the highest 1 bedrooms on the only night we could get a room), you get this view: And access to this pool :)
Was BLT the first place you stayed? And I'm assuming you never toured the properties before? I can only imagine what you were thinking the first time you stayed there if so, as it's a very impressive property. If it's anything like us, we only stayed at moderates before (never a deluxe) and first time we stepped into a
Here's some new aerial footage from bioreconstruct. For those that don't know, bioreconstruct gets a ton of construction footage from the Orlando area, including the theme parks. All can say is this place is going to be huge and the pools/water features are shaping up to be what I think will be one of my favorites: (If
If you keep your contract to it's conclusion none of this matters*, buy where you want to stay and hope to be able get availability between 7-11 months. *One important caveat: The more resale Riviera contracts exist the more competition you have for just Riviera as those points can only be used at Riviera. If you ever
If you've been happy at the value resorts, you will most certainly be moreso at the deluxe resorts (in my opinion :) ) and since you're already considering a second contract, be prepared for immediate add-on-itis.
