I think part of the issue here is that for those of us who stay almost exclusively at the DVC resorts 900+ rooms sounds really big because from our perspective it is but when you compare it to resorts in the Moderate and Value category, it is less than half the size of some of those. I wonder if LSL will share buses with the WL? I assume the bus route for LSL will go down the access road that currently exists which means they will go right past the WL. Since the WL and Contemporary sometimes share buses (as does FW and the WL) this is not as crazy as it sounds.

What about the All-Star Resorts? Each only has one bus stop, they only have bus transportation, and they all have a lot more rooms than the Lakeside Lodge will. Correct me if I am wrong but the Contemporary only has one bus stop and between the A Frame, Bay Lake Tower, and the Garden Wing it has over 900 total rooms.

Accumulating points for long retirement stays?
We are in the same boat, we just retired last year and we also came into a large number of points last year (in addition to our own) because my 90 year old parents can't go anymore so we get access to the inheritance points early.

So I just answered my own question on this - I just watched Paul and Amy's latest video on this subject and I think Paul and Derek laid a pretty good case for why the new Lodge will be the same ownership interest as the FW Cabins although Jeff made a very solid counter argument.

The real question - will Lakeshore Lodge be its own membership interest or will it be added to the FW Cabins? I am leaning toward it being its own membership interest since it is going to be so freaking huge.
What are your "special" things which make your vacation?
Enjoying the birds. We are birders and WDW is a great place to go birding (as is the rest of Florida). Whether it is SSR and OKW or around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, we have seen a lot of beautiful birds and we have a lot of great pictures. Plus it is relaxing and it is free.

Don't own there but we've stayed there twice because my Anaheim native wife still has family in the area. Great resort, love the DL Hotel and Palm Breeze is a great new establishment. Very similar to Geyser Point, just different theming.

Saratoga vs Old Key West
IMO the size of the rooms and the balconies in the one and two bedrooms are OKW's biggest selling points. Vibe is nice but as a former boss of mine said about restaurants - you can't eat ambience.
