Question of the Day: Will Disney add the Poly Island Tower to the existing association?
Few questions have divided the DVC world quite like this one. Let's settle it here, once and for all!
Will the Poly Island Tower become part of the existing Polynesian association, or will Disney create a separate association entirely? Reasonable minds have studied the clues, read the tea leaves, parsed every phrase, and somehow reached completely opposite conclusions.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but isn't the Poly Tower already a part of the existing association?

Yeah it's apart of the existing association -- this is more of a lighthearted reference to how it still sometimes comes up in conversation on the DVCFan show. Thought this would be a fun first question for this feature since it was first announced almost exactly 2 years ago they would be in the same association.
Home Resorts: Polynesian, Saratoga Springs, ??Lakeshore Lodge??
The real question - will Lakeshore Lodge be its own membership interest or will it be added to the FW Cabins? I am leaning toward it being its own membership interest since it is going to be so freaking huge.

I think it'd be interesting if they were all part of the same association because of the trust aspect of it. It'd also be interesting to see if they could offer different expirations for contracts in the same trust as I've heard that can be done with other Time Share programs. Basically in other time shares, everyone gets X number of years (for example 50 years) from their purchase date, which would be so much better than the entire association expiring at the same time. It would avoid the conundrum of the 2042 expiration and people would get more value out of their contracts. It also creates the possibility of DVC selling shorter contracts than 50 years and reducing the price.

It's doable with the Palmetto Trust! If they structure it so that each resort has its own Use Plan within the trust, it's possible for them to have different expirations.
Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!
