The problem with towers is that as a structure they are just too darn functional. Build up, not out and all of that. You got more rooms on the same plot of land.

Never stayed in them but I've toured the Tower Studios and Duo Studios in the Riviera and the DL Hotel and they are a very efficient in terms of use of space.
DVC Changes Modification Rules - Is Walking Over?
I appreciate that they are doing this but I sure wish they would alter it to allow you to add nights to an existing seven night reservation (while locking in the original check in date). This is kind of necessary for those of us who sometimes do extended stays.
Waitlist
That waitlist is not constantly scraping, it does it at certain times of the day (not sure how many, maybe only once) so that is why a room can come open. I have the best strategy when employing the waitlist is to also troll the DVC site at least once a day, especially in the morning to see if something has come open.
DVC Cruise Discounts
In 2023 we used a 35% discount on points to pay for an Alaska cruise. I think my wife wants to do one of the cruises out of San Diego the next time we go to California to visit her family there so we will probably look into.

It will be interesting to see the room type distribution because that will determine how easy it is to get reservations at 7 months.
